Anniversaries

Accessibility

“Anniversaries & Photo Collages” is built for iOS accessibility features and tested on iPhone. This page shows what’s supported.

Tested on real devices

Four accessibility features, fully supported

VoiceOver, Larger Text, Dark Mode and Reduced Motion apply to the whole app. They are the same four features you’ll find under “Accessibility” on the App Store.

VoiceOver

Every control is labeled: tiles, cards, photos, buttons and all confirmations. Dates and numbers are read out in full.

✓ Tested screen by screen

Larger Text

The app grows with the iOS text size—up to the largest accessibility size. Text wraps instead of being cut off.

✓ Tested on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone SE

Dark Mode

Midnight is a complete dark appearance for the whole app and the widget. With “Automatic,” the app follows your iPhone’s Dark Mode.

✓ Tested on an iPhone

Reduced Motion

With “Reduce Motion” turned on, the app stays calm: no flying heart at launch, no shimmer, no pop-in of the video tile. Tiles simply fade in, the confetti and the collage heart stand still, and a letter opens without the ceremony.

✓ Applied wherever something moves

Which screens were tested with VoiceOver
  • the main screen with countdown, tiles, and milestones
  • the timeline, including the map strip, statistics, and jump-to-year
  • recaps, both the list and the editing sheet
  • the form for creating an anniversary, from start to “Save”
  • all areas of Settings
  • the single and overview maps—pins announce their titles
  • the first launch: name prompt, empty state, “Add a new anniversary”
  • the photo stack and full-screen view, including swiping between photos
  • voice messages—recording, playback, and importing
  • restoring a backup while VoiceOver is running
  • the widget

What else helps

Descriptions for your photos

You can add a short description to every photo. It’s read aloud everywhere, even in full-screen view. The nine built-in illustrations have descriptions, too, so a day without its own photo is never silent.

More contrast

With “Increase Contrast” on, lighter text gets bolder and edges stay visible. The bar on the large tile becomes more opaque, including with “Reduce Transparency.” More colors are coming.

The right voice

The app is available in English and German and follows your iPhone’s language. VoiceOver reads it in the matching voice.

Confirmations that are easy to answer

Every confirmation has buttons that are easy to reach—either as an alert or, before restoring a backup, as a separate sheet that can’t be swiped away by accident with VoiceOver. Action sheets aren’t used, since VoiceOver focus tends to get stuck in them.
