Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This English version is a translation of the German original. In case of doubt, the German version applies.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing in connection with this website – the English version at www.anniversary-app.com and the German version at www.jahrestage-app.de – and the app “Anniversaries & Photo Collages” is:

Paolo Schubert
Büdnerei 4
18059 Rostock
Germany
Email: contact@jahrestage-app.de

There is no legal obligation to appoint a data protection officer.

2. The app “Anniversaries & Photo Collages”

The app works entirely on your device. It does not collect personal data and transmits nothing to us. Data only goes to third parties when you use place search and maps (see below) or make a purchase through Apple (Section 3). The app uses no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking services. As the provider, we have no access at any time to the content you store in the app.

  • Your entries, photos, videos, audio recordings, notes and places are stored exclusively locally in the app’s storage on your device.
  • You create the ZIP backup yourself; where you pass it on or save it is entirely up to you.
  • The app accesses the microphone, camera, photos, notifications, and calendar only if you explicitly allow it, and only for the feature in question, on your device.
  • The app uses the camera only for “Photo of the Week.” The pictures stay on your device; if you choose, the app also saves the original to your Photos app.

Place search and maps. When you search for a place for an entry, when the app creates a map image from it, or when you open a map, the app uses Apple’s map service (Apple Maps). Apple receives the search term or the map area shown, as well as technically necessary connection data such as your IP address. We receive none of it. If you don’t use these functions, nothing is transmitted for them. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

Age range in certain regions. In some regions, such as the U.S. states of Utah and Louisiana, the law requires apps to take their users’ age range into account through the App Store. Only there, starting with version 3.2, does the app ask once for your age range using Apple’s interface (“Declared Age Range”). The request shows a window from Apple; the app receives only an age range, not your date of birth. It does not store this information or pass it on, including to us. The app only remembers that the request has taken place. Apple is responsible for the age information itself; Apple’s privacy policy applies.

The app does not synchronize data through a server of its own. If you have turned on Apple’s iCloud Backup on your device, Apple may back up the app’s data to your private iCloud as part of the general device backup. Apple is responsible for this under Apple’s privacy policy; we have no access to it.

3. App Store and in-app purchases (“Plus”)

The app is obtained through the Apple App Store. The app is free; additional features (“Anniversaries Plus”) can be purchased as a monthly subscription or as a one-time purchase through Apple’s in-app purchase system. All purchase processing, including payment and invoicing data, as well as managing and canceling subscriptions, is handled exclusively by Apple. From Apple we only receive anonymized or aggregated sales reports from which we cannot identify you.

The app checks on your device whether Plus is unlocked, using the purchase information signed by Apple (StoreKit). In the same way, it recognizes whether the app was bought before version 3—in that case Plus applies permanently. This check takes place solely between the app and Apple; nothing is transmitted to us. Details are governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

4. Visiting the website (server log files)

When you visit this website, our hosting provider processes technically necessary data that your browser transmits automatically: IP address, date and time of the request, the page or file requested, amount of data transferred, a message about whether the request succeeded, browser type and version, operating system and the previously visited page (referrer). We cannot attribute this data to any user; it is not combined with other data.

The purpose is to deliver the website and to ensure secure and stable operation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in this under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The server log files are deleted automatically after a short time, unless they are exceptionally needed to investigate a specific security incident.

The host of this website is ALL-INKL.COM—Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. Processing takes place on servers in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host. Transmission is encrypted (TLS/SSL), recognizable by “https://” in the address bar.

5. Contacting us

If you write to us by email, we process your details (in particular your email address and the content of your message) in order to handle your request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, if the matter concerns a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We store this data only as long as necessary to handle the request and delete it afterward, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Cookies, analytics and external services

This website sets no cookies for analytics or advertising, embeds no external services and uses no analytics or tracking tools. Fonts are loaded locally from this server; no connection to third-party servers (such as Google Fonts) is made.

Language selection. The website is available in English (www.anniversary-app.com) and German (www.jahrestage-app.de); both addresses are hosted by the same provider. When you open the German home page, help pages, or blog, the server uses the language setting your browser transmits (Accept-Language) to decide which version to show; this information is not stored for that purpose. If you choose a language yourself using the switch in the page header, your browser stores that decision in a cookie called “sprache” (value “de” or “en,” valid for one year) so that you aren’t redirected again. The cookie only applies to the domain on which it was set, contains no personal data, and is only set when you use the switch. It is technically necessary to implement your language choice (Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG); processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

7. No transfers to third countries, no automated decision-making

We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA. We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

8. Your rights

You have the right at any time to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where we base processing on a legitimate interest, you also have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:

Der Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
(State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)
Schloss Schwerin, Lennéstraße 1
19053 Schwerin, Germany
www.datenschutz-mv.de

9. Changes to this policy

We will amend this privacy policy if the website or the app changes or if the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.

This policy was prepared to the best of our knowledge and describes the actual data processing. It does not replace individual legal advice.
